PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN INSTAGRAM CLOSE FRIENDS TERHADAP MANAJEMEN PRIVASI INDIVIDU

Abstract


The close friends feature allows a perception of someone's efforts to share their privacy, while also maintaining and managing that privacy through the communication process. This study aims to determine the effect of using Instagram close friends on individual privacy management. This study uses the uses and gratifications concept in social media from Whiting and Williams and the communication privacy management theory from Sandra Petronio. The research method used is quantitative with an unknown population. Thus, the number of samples was determined using the Lemeshow formula and obtained a minimum number of 96 samples. The correlation between the two variables is positive. While the influence of using the close friends feature on individual privacy management is 53.8%.
