PENGARUH VARIASI BEBAN INDENTOR VICKERS HARDNESS TESTER TERHADAP HASIL UJI KEKERASAN MATERIAL ALUMINIUM DAN BESI COR

Abstract


Experimental test of hardness of aluminum and cast iron material has been done using indentor method (vickers test) with variation of indenter load on each material tested. The experiment of hardness test with variation of indenter load is aimed to know the effect of what happened in hardness test of a material and learn ideal load selection technique so that it can yield accurate hardness data. The variation of indetor load used for each test is 50,100, and 200. From the three variations of the indentor load the result of different hardness values, then any variation of the indentor load used will affect the result of the hardness value of a material under test. Among the three variations of the load there is only one load that can be tolerated as the ideal load. The ideal load is the load that produces the highest hardness value of the hardness value resulting from the use of other loads. The experimental results of each material showed a hardness value of 886.73 x 10-6 with a load of 100 for aluminum and 968.7 x 10-6 with an ideal load of 100 for cast iron.
