ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN SISWA DALAM MENGINTERPRETASI GRAFIK KINEMATIKA

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memberikan informasi mengenai gambaran kemampuan siswa dalam menginterpretasi grafik kinematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di tiga sekolah menengah atas yang berada di wilayah Tangerang pada tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa dari tiga kelas, masing-masing kelas diambil dari ketiga sekolah tersebut yang dipilih secara purposive sampling dengan total keseluruhan 106 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan teknik triangulasi sumber data dengan menggunakan instrumen dari Test of Understanding Graphs in Kinematics (TUG-K) yang dikembangkan oleh Beichner (1994). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam menginterpretasi grafik kinematika. Secara umum, hasil analisis kemampuan interpretasi grafik kinematika diperoleh bahwa 1) kesalahan siswa dalam menafsirkan definisi perpindahan, kecepatan dan percepatan pada grafik, 2) siswa hanya membaca grafik secara mentah tanpa memperhatikan arti fisis dari variabel pada sumbu x dan y, 3) siswa masih salah dalam menggunakan persamaan gerakan dalam satu dimensi (GLB atau GLBB).
ABSTRACT
This study was conducted to provide information about description of students'ability in interpreting graphs kinematics. This study method was conduct using descriptif qualitatif. This study was conducted at three of the senior high schools in Tangerang district in the academic year of 2016/2017. The subject of this study are students of the three classes, each class was selected from three schools with purposive sampling, overall 106 students. Data collection technique in this study was conduct using the technique of triangulation of data sources by using an instrument from the Test of Understanding Graphs in Kinematics (TUG-K) developed by Beichner (1994). The result showed that students still difficulty in interpreting graphs kinematics. In general, the result analysis of ability interpreting of graphs kinematics retrieved that (1) errors of student in interpreting the definition of displacement, speed, and acceleration on the graphs, (2) students only read raw graphs without observe of physic concepts of variable on the x and y axis, (3) students wrong in using equations of one-dimensional motion (GLB or GLBB).
