PENGARUH FILTRASI DENGAN METODE UP FLOW TERHADAP KEKERUHAN, BESI (Fe) DAN DAERAJAT KEASAMAN (pH)

Abstract

Water is an assential element in order to fulfill all living things especially human races. The quality of fresh water is very needed to fulfill daily which mean that an excellent quality water is very needed in order to do not disturb health Iron levels (Fe), acidity levels (pH), and tubidity are theree components inside the water pollution that the often discovered. Those three contaminants need to further proccesed or filtered to quality so varieties. In this research using up flow filtration method one of the processing alternatives to  improve water quality. The filters that were used in this study consist of sand, active carbon, and pumice stone. The 1st filter were using 40 cm sand, 25 cm active carbon, 25 cm pumice stone. The 2nd filter were using 30 cm sand, 35 cm active carbon, 25 cm pumice stone and then 3rd filter were using 20 cm sand, 40 cm active carbon, and 30 cm pumice stone. This study was helded in Sikepan village, Purwodadi district, Purworejo regency. Based onthe result showed the most significant change in iron (Fe) content in filter 1, efficicant reduction of 87,02%. The increase in acidity (pH) is most significant in filter 3, it’s efficiency is 12,20%. And efficiency of decreasing of turbidity most significant is filter 1 it’s efficiency is 79,3 %. Differences in the thickness variation of each filter effect the decrease in iron content (Fe), increase in acidity (pH) and decrease of turbidity in water.
