PENGARUH VARIASI PENAMBAHAN INHIBITOR TEH BUBUK TERHADAP KEKERASAN PEGAS DAUN HASIL QUENCHING

Abstract


The decrease in mechanical properties causes the spring to not be reused completely, to improve the mechanical properties of leaf spring steel can be done by heat treatment with 900o temperature with a holding time of 1 hour and quenching using water media, the water used is PDAM water, expected after the treatment can increase the hardness of leaf spring steel the feasibility standard of use, quenching is applied in the leaf spring of the car to improve the quality of the spring quality. In this study, powder tea inhibitors were used as coatings and how the inhibitors affected the leaf spring steel hardness. The results showed that the spesimens produced from quenching which had been soaked in inhibitors experienced an increase in violence but were not significant with an average yield above 765.6 VHN. The results obtained from the percentage quenching spesimens were 75%, then increased 2.60% in spesimens that had been given inhibitors 15% and 20%, and increased in spesimens that had been given inhibitors 25% with a percentage of hardness of 2.82%.
