PENGARUH VARIASI WAKTU PADA PROSES ANODIZING TERHADAP KEKERASAN PERMUKAAN PANEL BRAKET

Abstract


The development of an increasingly advanced era makes interest in society in the field of technology more advanced because of the desire to make something new and modern. The panel brackets on vehicles are often modified into racing bracket panels so that various brands of non OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) bracket panels appear. Monster energy, one of the brands of non-OEM bracket panels that has an unfavorable appearance and gets a variety of complaints of poor durability. Anodizing is a surface treatment technique that is suitable for coating the base material because of the aluminum oxide coating resulting from the anodizing process. Based on these problems, the authors examine the influence of the anodizing process on the characteristics of the Monster Energy brand bracket panels with the time variations used are 15 minutes, 20 minutes, 25 minutes, and 30 minutes. The method used in this study includes specimen preparation, anodizing process, Vickers hardness test, data analysis, reporting, and publication. The results of this study indicate that this material includes aluminum 1100 series with an Al element of 99.13%. The result of the study shows that The average value of Vickers hardness (VHN) increases with increasing time in the anodizing process with the best results with a variation of 30 minutes anodizing time of 56.89 VHN.
