Abstract

Mung bean is a food plant that has the benefits of high nutritional content. Greenbean yields have decreased due to the unfulfilled element of P. One way to increasenutrient P uptake is by using phosphate solubilizing fungi. Phosphate solubilizingfungi are fungi that can decompose nutrient P adsorbed in the soil. Fungi are foundin the former eruption of Mount Merapi. This study aims to determine the presenceof phosphate-solubilizing fungi in the former Merapi eruption area and to test thepotential of selected isolates on the growth and yield of green bean plants. Thisresearch was conducted for 6 months in Cangkrian Kab. Sleman, the TemanggungPest Observation Laboratory, and on the land of Kalikotes Village, Kab. Klaten. The design used was a randomized block design (RBD) with 1 factor namely A0 asa control, A1 phosphate-solvent spore density of 106phosphate-solvent fungi, A2phosphate-solvent spore density of 107 phosphate-solvent fungi, and A3 phosphate-solvent spore density of 108fungi. Qualitative data were analyzed using description, and quantitative data using Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) analysis. Theresults showed that there were 18 isolates of fungi, which were then tested usingspecial media selected into 3 isolates to be able to dissolve the P nutrient. Theselected fungi would form a clear zone on the treatment medium. The results of theapplication of the selected fungi showed that the spore density of 107-108 had thebest effect on the parameters of plant height, number of leaves, seed wet weight, root wet weight, and root length. In this research, it was found that theadministration of phosphate solvent fungi with different spore densities had aneffect on increasing secondary metabolites. So that it is able to increase the growthand yield of green bean plants.
