The Influence of Orchid Planting Types and Media on the Growth of Orchid Plantlets in the Acclimatization Stage
Abstract
Research on the effect of using planting media on the growth of orchid plantlets at the acclimatization stage has been carried out from January to May 2023 at the Orchid Nursery, Sidomulyo Village, Candimulyo District, Magelang Regency. The research method used was factorial (2x5) in a completely randomized block design. The first factor is two types of orchids (Dendrobium and Phalaenopsis). The second factor was five types of growing media (cocopeat, moss, kadaka roots, ferns, and husk charcoal). The results of the analysis showed that the use of Dendrobium orchids resulted in an increase in the number of leaves, an increase in the number of roots and the number of shoots and the use of moss media resulted in an increase in the number of leaves, an increase in leaf area, an increase in fresh weight and an increase in the number of roots.
